Chancellor Merkel to attend Germany versus Greece clash

German Chancellor Angela Merkel will join Poland's prime minister Donald Tusk at the PGE stadium in Gdansk, Friday night, for Germany's quarter final with Greece.

FIFA president Sepp Blatter, UEFA chief Michel Platini and president of Bayern Munich, Franz Beckenbauer will also be attending the match tonight, in the second tie in the last eight of Euro 2012.
Before the match, the dignitaries will visit the historic Gdansk Shipyard, visit the "Roads to Freedom" exhibition, which tells the story of the rise of the Solidarity trade union, and pay respects at the Monument to Fallen Shipyard Workers. (pg)
