Car bomb kills at least 27 in Turkish capital

At least 27 people were killed and 75 injured when a car bomb went off in central Ankara on Sunday evening.

The blast occurred at about 6:40 pm local time, and although no one has claimed responsibility for the attack as of yet, it follows comparable incidents over the last six months.

In October, over 100 people died when two suicide bombers penetrated a Kurdish peace rally in the Turkish capital.

Ivory Coast

Meanwhile, at least 11 people were killed when gunmen opened fire at hotels on a beach resort in the Ivory Coast.

It is understood that tourists, including a French citizen, were among the victims. (nh)
