New migration laws in Poland aimed at increasing safety will see the country’s external border sealed from illegal immigrants, said Interior Minister Mariusz Błaszczak.

The changes in the law will also make it easier to expel illegal immigrants from Poland.
“Our main concern is security, followed by sealing the borders, and thirdly the introduction of procedures facilitating the expulsion of people entering – or trying to enter – Poland illegally,” Blaszczak said outlining draft amendments to Poland's law on foreigners on Monday.
He added that the new laws would target migrants who have the intention of treating Poland as a “transit country because their actual destination is Western Europe”, Blaszczak added.
“If migrants... know they cannot get across the Polish border, they will not try it”, he said.
