Poland pledges more aid to Syria, help for refugees in Turkey

Poland will donate a further PLN 48 million (EUR 11.4 million) in humanitarian aid to citizens in Syria and will also allocate EUR 12.5 million to help refugees in Turkey, a government minister has said.

Beata Kempa, Poland’s minister for humanitarian aid, was speaking after a high-level conference in Brussels that aimed to mobilise international support for those affected by the war in Syria.
The Supporting the Future of Syria and the Region conference ended in the Belgian capital on Wednesday. It was held by the European Union and the United Nations.
During a visit to Jordan in January, Kempa declared that Polish humanitarian aid to refugees from worn-torn countries was “addressed to all refugees, regardless of their nationality or religion."
