‘Great potential, possibilities’ for Poland in Africa: FM

“Africa has great potential and possibilities,” Jacek Czaputowicz said at a meeting with ambassadors from sub-Saharan African countries.

He added that the government in Warsaw was interested in developing relations with countries in the region.

He referred to a “growing network of Polish embassies and commercial counsellors’ offices” in Africa, according to the Polish foreign ministry.

The meeting in Warsaw was attended by diplomats from nations including Angola, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, South Africa, Nigeria and Senegal, the Polish foreign ministry said.

It added that the event served to forge closer ties and boost trade between Poland and African nations.

Czaputowicz encouraged African countries to open diplomatic missions in Warsaw to facilitate mutual contacts, the Polish foreign ministry said on its website.
