Poland’s official EU presidency web site was launched at the weekend, the government’s main tool for releasing information about the six-month presidency and related events.
Poland’s EU presidency begins on 1 July.
“When setting up the service, we were concerned about the needs of delegates and journalists attending events related to the Presidency. On the other hand, we wanted to avoid creating a dull official site, opting instead for a website able to appeal to the average citizen as well,” says Konrad Niklewicz, spokesman for the Polish Presidency.
“We purposely went for a positive and dynamic layout of the portal,” he added.
The web site includes an event calendar, a ‘Who’s Who’ guide to the main players, and a media accreditation section.
There is also a video-blog and much more.
The web site can be found at pl2011.eu. (pg)
