The band, which released their acclaimed fourth album Present Tense last month, join previously confirmed acts The Black Keys and US veterans Pearl Jam.

Freshly booked alongside the Wild Beasts is newcomer Banks. The US singer notched up award nominations from MTV and the BBC over the last twelve months, after exploding onto the scene in 2013.

The third new confirmation for Open'er 2014 is Swedish sensation Lykke Li, whose third album I Never Learn is due out in May.

The Open'er Festival (previously titled Heineken Open'er Festival) was launched in Warsaw in 2002, later moving to the Kosakowo Airport near Gdynia, northern Poland.

Some 85,000 music fans descended on the military airfield for the 2013 edition. This year's event is due to be held from 2 July to 5 July, and more headliners are still to be confirmed. (nh)
