Anna, who is 97, and Eugeniusz, one year her junior, have five children, nine grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Asked by a Polish Radio reporter about a recipe for happiness in their 75 years of marriage, they listed three things: love, patience and mutual respect.
Village head Mieczysław Górka, who is Eugeniusz Sułowicz’s nephew, is proud of the diamond couple.
“They can serve as a model for all married couples,” he said.
Eugeniusz Sułowicz was a member of Bataliony Chłopskie (Peasant Batallions) resistance movement during World War Two, and of the Polish People’s Party after the war.
His distinctions include the Knight’s Cross of the Order of Reborn Poland and the Golden Cross of Merit. (mk/rg)
