According to the UK chain, the initiative is aimed at securing commercial investments that will make a visit to the supermarket more appealing.
A company spokesman told the Reuters news agency that the firm hopes to “attract complementary services such as restaurants and other leisure facilities to some of our existing stores in Poland.”
Some 35 plots are due to be sold in the initial wave of sales, according to consultancy firm Cushman and Wakefield.
Poland is the company's biggest market in central Europe, but the firm registered a 4.5 percent drop in Polish sales during the second quarter of 2013. Overall profits are also in decline for Tesco's overseas European division.
Tesco entered the Polish market in 1998, and it now has 450 shops across the country, employing 28,000 people. (nh)
