A terrorist attack undertaken by Islamic extremists on 18 March at the Bardo Museum in Tunis killed 20 people, including three tourists from Poland, as well as travellers from Japan, France and Italy.
As a result, the Rzeczpospolita daily reports that prices of package holidays to popular Polish destinations – such as Greece, Egypt andd Turkey – have gone up by as much as PLN 500 per person per week.
However, prices have gone up even further for destinations which are deemed as safe for tourists. According to the daily, the price for a week-long holiday for a four-person family to the Canary Islands has gone up by PLN 4,000, around EUR 1,000. (jb)
