Poland wants to halt the development of the Nord Stream 2, a planned gas pipeline connecting Russia to Germany, said Maritime Economy Minister Marek Gróbarczyk.

Speaking to Polish Radio, Gróbarczyk said the German-Russian gas pipeline goes against the concept that what is not beneficial for all European Union countries cannot be beneficial for any single country.

Poland has been a vocal critic of the pipeline, which plans to circumvent Central and Eastern Europe by delivering Russian gas directly to Germany. (rg/vb)
