The Zhonglu Fruit Juice Co. Ltd. plans to take over Poland’s Appol for over PLN 68.5 million, according to reports.

China’s National Business Daily reported that the deal would be the Chinese company’s first foreign investment.

The daily added that demand for apple juice concentrate is growing around the world and prices are expected to rise.

Poland is one of the world’s largest producers of apples. However, China has this year exported 9,600 tonnes of apple juice concentrate to the European Union, including to Poland, according to Polish Radio’s IAR news agency.
