Poland’s state-run PGG mining group has put together an exhibition in the European Parliament to promote the use of coal and what is known as clean coal technology.

The exhibition, entitled “Be co@l,” aims to persuade decision makers in Europe to be softer on coal in their policies.
Polish conservative MEP Jadwiga Wiśniewska, who has helped stage the exhibition, argued that coal remained a key energy source worldwide and that it was just about as eco-friendly these days as renewables.
Coal is the main energy source for power plants in Poland.
