Poland to host talks on protecting the world from hackers

Protecting the world from hackers is to be one of the main subjects of talks in Kraków for CyberSec, one of Europe's largest conferences on online security, which starts on Monday.

Antonio Missiroli, NATO's Assistant Secretary General for Emerging Security Challenges, and representatives of IT-sector giants Google and Microsoft are to attend the conference, as are politicians, scientists, investors and businesspeople from around the world.
Digitising the so-called Three-Seas area, which lies between the Baltic, Black and Adriatic Seas, is also to be discussed as the conference's organiser, the Kościuszko Institute, aims to boost Central and Eastern Europe's cooperation on ensuring cyber security and embracing the digital age.
An exhibition entitled Numbers, Codes, Ciphers – 100 Years of Independence is to accompany the conference. The exhibition will showcase Poland's contributions to mathematics, information technology and cryptology as the country marks 100 years of independence after more than a century of partitions and foreign rule.
