Poland's budget deficit is expected to be no more than PLN 28.5 billion (EUR 6.6 billion, USD 7.6 billion) this year.
Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki told senators last week that the spending plan drawn up by his conservative government married economic growth with social solidarity.
Morawiecki also said that the budget ensured funding for the government’s key social assistance programmes while meeting "all European Union requirements."
The Polish economy grew 5.1 percent in 2018, the country’s Central Statistical Office (GUS) said in a flash estimate earlier on Thursday.
Poland’s enterprise minister said the figure was one of the best results in Europe.
In 2017, Poland’s gross domestic product expanded by 4.8 percent, according to the Central Statistical Office.
