As she struggles to return to form, Polish tennis player Agnieszka Radwańska has failed to make an impact at her first tournament this year.

The Polish world No. 28 was eliminated in the quarterfinals of the ASB Classic tennis tournament in Auckland, New Zealand, by Sachia Vickery, an American qualifier who is ranked a distant No. 122 by the Women's Tennis Association (WTA).
The Polish player lost in straight sets, 2-6, 2-6, to the American rising star, who earlier beat another Pole, Magdalena Fręch, 7-5, 6-3, in the qualifying stage of the Auckland tournament.
Radwańska, a former world No. 2, had reached the quarterfinals of the ASB Classic after seeing off Taylor Townsend of the United States in the second round and defeating Brazil’s Beatriz Haddad Maia in the opening round.
Radwańska won the ASB Classic in Auckland in 2013. She ended 2017 ranked outside the Top 20 for the first time in a decade.
