Hurkacz, who is world No. 67, next faces Denis Shapovalov of Canada in the men’s singles competition at Indian Wells.

The Pole outplayed France’s Lucas Pouille, 6-2, 3-6, 6-4, in the second round of the USD 9 million tournament in the California desert.
