Indian Vice President Mohammad Hamid Ansari said: “India sees Poland as an important emerging economic partner, not just in Europe, but in the world”.

Polish Prime Minister Beata Szydło said India was a country of huge potential and that Poland should have strong trade ties with it.

“The president and I agreed that economics are currently becoming the leading aspects of Polish-Indian cooperation,” Szydło said.

With already 20 Indian companies active in Poland, Szydło also encouraged further investments.

Szydło also said she hoped a direct flight between India and Poland would be launched, adding that in 2016, the Polish government deemed India one of Poland's five most perspective markets.

According to Poland's development ministry, at USD 670 million (PLN 2.6 billion), exports to India in 2016 were 44 percent higher than the year before.
