Eurofile :: civil partnerships crossed out of political debate. Presented by Alicja Baczynska.
We take a look at the political debate – or rather lack thereof – on registered partnerships in Poland.
Poland is one of nine countries in the 27-nation bloc not to sanction civil partnerships. Recent efforts at prompting change in legislation have fallen through in Parliament, after a recent ‘no’ vote on the inclusion of two draft bills on civil partnerships on the list of topics for debate in the parliamentary session. The proposals were put forward by the Palikot Movement and Democratic Left Alliance.
Our reporter Elżbieta Krajewska looks at the proposed legal solutions and arguments from both sides of the debate.
Also in the programme: Poles increasingly critical of Poland’s entry into eurozone, and hackers break into mailbox of European Council head.
