On Tuesday, Polish President Andrzej Duda signed the so-called anti-smog law, which is expected to curb emissions of toxic substances in the country.

A 2014 study by the country’s Supreme Audit Office highlighted that air in Poland is one of the most polluted in Europe.
“This is a very important bill […] Regional authorities may impose bans or restrictions on using certain types of fuel,” said environmental lawyer Małgorzata Smolak from the ClientEarth foundation.
