Women's Congress begins in Warsaw

The IV Congress of Women, attended by First Lady Anna Komorowska, has got under way at the Palace of Culture and Science in Warsaw under the slogan “activity, entrepreneurship, independence".

Just under 10,000 delegates are attending the conference, including guests from Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Georgia, Ukraine and many other countries.
On Friday, discussion panels are being held on subjects including motherhood, education, business, local government initiatives for women and care of dependants, including childcare.
Saturday's sessions will include stereotyping, violence against women, equal opportunities and the labour market.
The congress will end on Saturday evening with the fourth Women's Awards ceremony. (pg)
