The public prosecutor asked on Tuesday for Korwin-Mikke’s immunity as MEP to be lifted, Polish Radio reports.

The controversial MEP assaulted Michal Boni, formerly a minister and Prime Minister Donald Tusk’s top aide, in the foreign ministry building.

The incident arose due to revelation that Boni had signed a declaration of cooperation with the Communist-era political police, although he never informed on anyone. Korwin-Mikke called Boni a rat, provoking Boni to call him a scoundrel in a television interview. Korwin-Mikke said the term insulted him. (an)
