Fifteen years after the attack in New York, she laid a wreath at a plaque in Warsaw commemorating six Polish citizens who lost their lives.
The plaque, a black granite slab erected on a plinth and bearing the names of the Polish victims, was unveiled on the first anniversary of the WTC attack, September 11, 2002. It is located in the Skaryszewski Park in the Warsaw district of Praga.
On September 11, 2001, two of four Al-Qaeda-hijacked planes smashed into New York's World Trade Center, killing 2,753 including six Poles, in the worst attack on US soil since Pearl Harbor was bombed in 1941.
