Ruling party MP's office paint bombed

Krystyna Pawłowicz said on Facebook that the attackers were “people who were raised by the … opposition to be hateful of Poland”.

She accused them of “bad aim” because her office occupies only one room in the two-storey building which had one whole facade defaced.

She added that it would be difficult to find the culprits because there were no security cameras around the building.

On New Year's Eve in the town of Nakło nad Notecją in northern Poland, a PiS MP and a PiS MEP's office doors were damaged and the building vandalised with signs which read: “You have blood on your hands, you caused the death of Piotr Szczęsny,” a Polish man who last year died after setting himself on fire in Warsaw in protest at the government's policies and decisions.

Around the same time, a different MP and MEP had the locks on their Warsaw office glued shut, while in mid-December, MP Beata Kempa's office in Syców, southwestern Poland, was doused in flammable liquid and set alight.

Last October, signs with the PiS logo and the Polish coat of arms on the building which houses another MP's office were damaged, while last July, Pawłowicz claimed that her parents' grave was vandalised using red paint, which she said was the opposition's “political offensive”.

Meanwhile, deputies from the opposition Civic Platform party Arkadiusz Myrcha, Tomasz Lenz and Antoni Mężydło had their offices vandalised by attackers who painted over the sign on their office, according to Myrcha's Twitter post, which said it was the third time the sign had been targeted.
