Murder suspect detained in Poland

A Russian national suspected of murder and attempted murder in Germany has been detained by police in Poland.

The 24-year-old man from Chechnya is suspected of using a knife to kill one man and trying to kill a second person in Bremen, northern Germany.
Late last year, German police told their Polish counterparts that the man was probably in hiding in Poland, and a Bremen court put out a European warrant for his arrest.
Polish and German police working together determined that the man had rented a home south-west of Warsaw.
According to Polish police, the man has been handed over to the Warsaw District Prosecutor’s Office. (vb/pk)
