The three new Bell-407GXi helicopters will be supplied under a deal with Bell Helicopter Textron Inc. and enable Polish police to retire their outdated Mi-2s.
The Polish police announced the deal last week, but did not disclose its value at the time.
A spokesman for Poland's National Police Headquarters (KGP), Mariusz Ciarka, told public broadcaster Polish Radio on Thursday that the PLN 50 million price tag covered “the delivery of three helicopters, training of flying and technical personnel and the cost of equipment and service materials.”
Under the contract, the first of the helicopters is due to be delivered by the end of this year, and the other two by March 2020.
Poland’s government last month signed a PLN 683.4 million (EUR 159 million, USD 181 million) contract to buy a first batch of four US-designed, Polish-built Black Hawk helicopters for the country’s armed forces.
