Almost 100 people were injured on Polish roads on Friday.
Some 5,500 traffic police will be checking to make sure that drivers are sober, sticking to the speed limit and that their cars are in good condition during a safety campaign which began on Friday and runs until Monday.
Officers have warned there will be zero tolerance for drink-drivers.
During last year’s four-day Easter weekend, 23 people were killed and 303 injured in 238 accidents on Polish roads, according to statistics cited by public broadcaster Polish Radio’s IAR news agency.
